Welcome to  KIRAN

The Knowledge-based Intercommunity Relationship and Awareness Network (KIRAN) is a non-profit organisation based in the United Kingdom. KIRAN was established to promote community engagement on an informed basis. It seeks to foster knowledge-based acceptance of different cultures, heritage and traditions prevalent among various communities in the UK.

KIRAN primarily works for people living in Cardiff and its surrounding areas. It organises many programmes on a weekly and monthly basis in order to engage community members and reduce social isolation. All of its programmes are for local communities, by local communities. A few of its regular activities are as follows 

Cardiff Theatre - weekly theatre club run by local communities. Please visit www.cardifftheatre.com for more information.

Cardiff Literary Circle - a group of like-minded people engaging through literary works, e.g., poetry, short stories and other forms of fiction and non-fiction.

KIRAN Round Table - This is a weekly community meet-up organised by KIRAN. People from all walks of life join this weekly Adda. They connect with their friends and make new friends through movie watching, debate, delicious food, literature or may be only taking part in round table talking.  

Cardiff Theatre Festival - KIRAN organised a theatre festival in Cardiff in with theatre groups from Cardiff, Bristol and the Netherlands.

West Bengal-Cymru Heritage - KIRAN has undertaken this project to raise awareness about the heritage of West Bengal, India and Cymru. It aims to educate people about socio-cultural aspects and traditions of West Bengal and India.

In today’s diverse environment, we need to live together and co-exist peacefully with sociocultural diversities. Acceptance, on an informed basis, of different cultures, traditions and heritage make us stronger and more connected at an individual as well as collective level. 

KIRAN organises many other regular activities in order to engage, educate and empower local community members.
